With the federal legislation removing virtual all interprovincial trade barriers at the federal level, it is up to the provinces to step up, and the impression I have is that they talk virtuous headlines but are laggards in practice. The « it’s complicated » statements are feeble, given this has been a discussion of at least 30 years. It would be helpful to have a third party document progress in reducing barriers on a regular basis. Shame the laggards, but they have no shame because they are pandering protected provincial interests.
